Christmas Trivia – Dec 6
CRA provided a sober space during the Downtown Open House in Petoskey on Dec 6. Everyone enjoyed the Christmas themed trivia night!
Expungement Clinic and Resource Fair – Oct 4th
CRA hosted an Expungement Clinic at the Emmet County Fairgrounds in partnership with
LTBB, Safe and Just Michigan, Michigan Indian Legal services, & the State of Michigan Attorney General.
There was also numerous community partners on site to provide information to anyone seeking it.
Grand Reopening – August 27th
CRA recently moved into a new larger space, and invited our community and community partners to come attend the rededication and ribbon cutting.
Karaoke with a Cop – August 20th
CRA hosted our first annual Karaoke with a Cop.
Karaoke with a Cop is aimed at reducing stigma and breaking down barriers between individuals in recovery and our justice and public safety officials.

Recovery Month Events – August
CRA hosted a multitude of events in August to Celebrate Recovery Month including weekly crafting, cornhole, and a fun day of games for National Recovery Day.
Overdose Awareness Day – Aug 31
4th annual Butterfly Release event, with speakers including, Lisa Clavier (Kiersten’s Ride), A Blessing of the Butterflies by Shane and Deleta from the LTBB, CRA Staff and Board Members, and Taylor from Shatterproof (shatterproof.org).
Recovery Coach Seminar – Aug 14
CRA, NMSAS, MiWorks, and NCMC came together to help Recovery Coaches learn skills to help get them jobs in a professional setting.
Beach Party – Aug 2nd
CRA celebrated the summer with a Friday Night Beach Party at Petoskey State Park.
2024 Rural Michigan Opioid & Substance Use Summit
CRA was asked to talk a this Summit about the Recovery Friendly Workplace partnership with the State of Michigan.
R2R Clinic Emmet/Otsego – July 16 & 18
Road to Restoration Clinic Organized By Stephanie and the CRA team, co-sponsored by NMORC and the Secretary of State.

A simple Games Night at CRA.
Round Table with Michigan AG – May 31st
CRA hosted Michigan’s Attorney General and Assistant Attorney General for a Roundtable discussion with predominate members of the local communities about the Opioid Settlement money and how our communities can benefit from additional services to help sustain an individuals’ sobriety.
Trivia Night – May 3rd
CRA Hosted its first Trivia Night at the Center.
Project Connect – April 10th
CRA was invited to have a booth at Project Connect 2024 – We met with lots of local businesses and Nonprofits and are excited for future collaborations.
Recovery Rocks – April 5th
An amazing night of Rock painting, Rock playing, and Pizza Roll fun.
Learn to Crochet Night – March 1st
Stress relief in life is very important. One way is to make something with your hands!
Crocheting (knitting) is a great way to combat stress and restlessness in the recovery journey.
Sobrrr Bowling – February 25th
A extremely fun afternoon with our community at the local bowling alley.
We had so much fun getting to hang out and chat to everyone that came. It was a wonderful success.
Movie Night – February 2nd
A Movie night to shake off the Winter Blues
We wanted a fun night to just hang out, eat some food, and watch the classic Movie – ‘Groundhog Day”.
Vision Board Night – January 5th
Starting off the New Year with a Plan.
Everyone enjoyed being able to create their own game plan for the upcoming year. Exciting things are going to happen as long as you envision it!

Downtown Petoskey Open House – December 1st
Spreading awareness during the Annual Downtown Petoskey Open House.
CRA Staff and Board Members provided information, snacks, and a safe hot drink alternative for those on a Recovery Journey so they too can enjoy the festivities of this Holiday Season.
Ornament Decorating Event – December
The last CRA event of 2023, Ornament Decorating.
Friends and Family of Recoverees were encouraged to join us in this fun craft for the holidays.
Meghann Perry Training – September
As part of the CRA Programming during September ‘Recovery Month’,
Meghann Perry and her team of trainers came in to provide storytelling training to local recovery community professionals and to those in recovery.
Overdose Awareness Event – Aug. 31st
The Overdose Awareness and Remembrance event for 2023 was an amazing success.
This event was made possible with the help of volunteers, additional organizations, and a community coming together to support one another.

This event is for Peer Recovery Coaches only (MDHHS or CCAR).

The Recovery Leadership Summit connect and help recovery community organizations around the world and continue to work to change the way addiction and recovery are understood and embraced through advocacy, education and leadership.

These meetings aim to create a cohesive network of treatment facilities and recovery support organizations within the Northern Michigan community.

Petoskey Holiday Open House – December
Our executive director and a few of our board members had the opportunity to meet some of the friendly faces of the Petoskey community and share with them how CRA can help those who are on or starting their recovery journey. Thank you to everyone who came out that night and stopped by our tent. We look forward to doing it again next year!
Recovery Month Celebration – September
The City of Petoskey’s first National Recovery Month Event.
Included an open mic, live music, and a keynote speaker.
Overdose Awareness Event – Aug 31st
International Overdose Awareness Day is the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose, remember those who have died, and acknowledge the grief of the family and friends left behind.
This first annual event included a prayer, music, and a butterfly release to help spirits heal.
Independence Day Parade & Celebration – July
Community Recovery Alliance was a part of the Petoskey Fourth of July Parade.
Later that evening, the Recovery N.O.T.E.S band coordinated a night of music for the locals.
Uplifting the Lockdown Comedy Tour – Comedian Mark Lundholm – May
Mark Lundholm wrote and performed his own one-man show off-Broadway in New York City reaching critical acclaim,
and in his spare time created the now staple DVD series ‘Humor in Treatment’ and the Recovery Board Game.
