– April 8th — Together We Can: Co-Parenting
Parenting is a team effort. The adults in a child’s life need to consider their children’s needs as they parent together. Build upon your knowledge and skills to promote healthy family and parenting relationships. This workshop is for all parents (married, divorced, single, step, etc.)
– May 6th — Setting the Stage: Promoting Social-Emotional Health in Young Children
Social and emotional development, a critical aspect of overall brain development, begins at birth. Social-emotional skills are nurtured through daily routine, language and play. They are the foundations of social competence that affect a child’s ability to adapt in school and to form successful relationships throughout life. This workshop will help participants learn about social emotional health, ways that we all can promote good social emotional health in young children, learn activities and resources that promote social emotional health, and explore ways to provide a home, care, or school environment that is responsive to social emotional health.
– May 20th — The Resilience Toolbox: Building Tools for Resilience in Early Childhood
Prolonged or intense stress can have lasting negative impacts in the development of young children. Children with resilience are better able to manage this stress and work towards healthy and successful outcomes. Stocking up your resilience toolbox empowers you to help children learn to manage the stressors in their lives and give them the skills, tools and know-how to deal with whatever life throws at them. This workshop will help participants learn about resilience and its importance, understand how stress affects children, learn protective factors to support resiliency, and identify specific strategies to build resilience in children.
